Joe Bastardi of WeatherBELL.com sees this coming spring and summer shaping up to be similar, weather wise, to what we have experienced the last two years; good amounts of rain over the major crop areas of the United States.
I recently hosted a meteorologist from MDA, a service NGL subscribes to, in our Tulsa office. Being the weather geek that I am, I peppered him with questions and the topic of this summer came up, as did next winter.
His answers align with Bastardi’s comments on summer and also what Bastardi and others are seeing from projected Sea Surface Temperatures (SST’s) in the Pacific; mild summer in the heartland and below normal in the Great Lakes and Northeast, adequate rainfall and then another winter of the cold variety, perhaps a blend of the last two years with an early onset and not the blow torch December we experienced last year. I’ll have more on these topics in another post.
