See this graphic for the early part of January:
There is also some disagreement between the American and European forecasting models for the 8th through the 15th, with the American showing more mild weather in the Southeast while the European is showing a colder shot of weather in the Southeast. The Euro has been far more accurate this winter, but some forecasters seem to be favoring the American model this time around. That said, we’re not talking 70’s forecast for the Southeast…just slightly above normal.
That said, there is a VERY cold blast of air forecast to invade the Northeast next week, somewhere around January 8th. So there is a decent chance that we’ll see average to below average temperatures over the first two weeks of January.
CRAZY DIXIE FACT: How about these apples…Did you know that propane in the Dixie is the cheapest propane in the WORLD? OK, it’s technically cheaper in Mt Belvieu before it’s pumped over to Hattiesburg…but that’s the orgination point….and the Dixie is the ONLY major pipeline in the United States not currently on allocation! While prices are at uncomfortable levels, I guess some solace can be found in these facts.
